Of course, the order of the songs didn't come to me this way, so after deciding which parts I wanted to play, I had to work to find an arrangement that flowed well musically, and kept up a lively, entertaining pace and energy. This was hugely important to the project, as I envisioned it. This process took a few weeks! After endless tweaking I settled into what made it into the final product - and I'm happy with it. A little editing in Audacity software and the medley was done.
Pre-Production

The very first thing I needed to do was to decide which songs I would perform. This wasn't an easy task given the many songs there are to choose from. I ultimately decided on classics that ran through the Power Windows album of 1995. This decision was partly driven by the fact that electronics played a heavier role in a lot of the subsequent material, and I wanted to stick to acoustic drumming. So... one thing off the list! The songs:

YYZ (Moving Pictures)
Tom Sawyer (Moving Pictures)
Red Barchetta (Moving Pictures)
The Spirit of Radio (Permanent Waves)
Distant Early Warning (Grace Under Pressure)
Freewill  (Permanent Waves)
Jacob's Ladder (Permanent Waves)
Limelight (Moving Pictures)
Marathon (Power Windows)
Losing It (Signals)
La Villa Strangiato (Hemispheres)
Subdivisions (Signals)
